Mad Honker - GrindR+Honker

A "Youtuber" called "Arnold plays guitar" told about how the experience of purchasing a piece of gear made him unhappy with this overdrive.

GUP is not just the opposite of this, where this seems totally impossible. Everything is cool about them. It is totally just a joy having purchased from them, and they show a lot of responsibility and generosity.

And I know I'm just now talking about the gear. They are building absolutely convincing and best quality pieces of gear, and you can buy and have multiple cool things, where you would get just one from other companies, without any difference in quality. I love the Mad Honker and the noise gate and Eq I have from GUP.

I am not a big fan of the TS808 circuit. Many guitarist have a love-hate relationship with it. However, this pedal exceeds TS808 expectations because it is slightly modded. In addition, the grinder and 33 option boost Exceeds any expectations I might have. It’s very subtle, but it works well opening up not just a TS 808, but other petals as well. The boost combined has a retail value of $400 alone.

I have had several TS pedals, to include; Bad Monkey, Green Scream & Plush OD. The Mad Honker does what a TS should do. I know as soon as I plug in, if the pedal is a keeper. The Mad Honker is a keeper. Most, if not all guitarists have a love/hate with the poplular TS-808 circuit. This pedal achieves what others have tried to do. The boost, in comparison to the FD2, is phenomenal. It allows cascading with a Tonebone Plexitube. The OD circuit plays very, very well with OD channels. Orange TH30. Not a lot, just a little, 9 or 10 O'clock, for enough saturation on OD channel. Clean channel the OD is TS-808 perfection, if that is what your into. I prefer the 33 setting. The GR I will likely have to find setting on another amp/guitar. My search finally over. And at a decent price. I bought new impulse buy, which I almost NEVER do.

This pedal does so much it’s crazy. It’s like having several of the best overdrives and having the ability to blend them all in one pedal. I’m super impressed with this pedal!!

Blew my mind how good this pedal sounds. Seems very well made. Knobs turn smoothly and switches are nice and tight... like a tiger. And the thing sounds amazing. Will definitely be buying more from GUPtech!
