Galak-C - Optical Compressor

The Galak-C is a large headroom studio grade guitar, bass or any instrument compressor.

This is a very quiet compressor with a very useful "Tone" control. Use the Attack and Release to shape the speed of the effect. Go with full Ratio if you want a more compressed signal. Sustain controls the pre-compressor boosted signal while Level is the overall output.

If you want something more "vintage" and less hi-fi, have a look at our SQWZR Af edition, based on the old Ross compressor. 

Power consumption : 13mA

Voltage : 9Vdc Only. Anything higher will blow some capacitors.

2026-01 : New design alert. The Galak-C now replaces the original SQWZR we had since almost our beginning. It's the same circuit, in a new enclosure design. You can refer to SQWZR demo to hear how this pedal sounds.
