Standard straight-forward heavy distortion with gain, low and high knobs.

2020-12-01 Update : We are now offering our Torch with a Clean Boost/Overdrive mod. This mod include a toggle switch between the Volume and Distortion knob. You now get three completely different tones from this toggle. Position 2 is the authentic HM2 circuit. Position 1 bypass the gain circuit and the clipping diode and give yourself a nice clean EQ to add before a high gain amp. Center position is my favorite and convert the pedal into a nice and creamy Overdrive-Distortion effect.

Perfect
I bought this on a whim, late one night while looking for an affordable but high quality HM-2. I stumbled across the Torch and made the plunge to buy it. The GUP team sent me the pedal all the way across the world to East Jerusalem. The day I received it, I went home and tried it right away vs my HM-2. It’s as close as you’re going to get in my opinion. While I was unaware of how the switch would alter the sound, I was pleasantly impressed by the options. All 3 are very unique and could imagine myself using all 3 functions. GUP did a great job diversifying an iconic pedal. I cannot recommend it enough. I really enjoy it.
A highly exceptional pedal all around! The original HM-2 is really good at one thing, however the TorchX is also good at that one thing and then some! Chainsaw for days!!!
Exactly what it claims to be, a straight up clone of a HM2, nothing more, nothing less. Great build quality, nice knobs and great clicky footswitch.
