DOnut Distortion-Overdrive (Hot Cake Tribute)

Well technically two - one Donut and one Double Donut - but it's more donuts than I should eat in a day. This is a unique sounding overdrive and can do a lot of things very well. I love it as a higher gain crunch, and turning the gain and tone up all the way gives a super sweet fuzzy overdrive.

Have been using this thing daily, (almost) always on at low gain and it’s freaking great. Played a gig last night with it and was told that our mix was great and that the sound guy nailed it (we weren’t mic’d up haha)

I have a Vox AC15 amp and over the years I've heard so much about how the Hot Cake pairs nicely with this amp. I've never played through a hot cake before and didn't really want to spend the money on that pedal so I looked for alternatives. The DOnut distortion overdrive looked to be a viable alternative and the price was unbeatable. I've been playing with the pedal for close to a month now and it is amazing! Took no time to dial in a great tone and this does pair extremely well with the Vox AC15. The tone is truly satisfying especially if you are looking for edge of breakup but what this does so well is enhance your amps clean tone with enough grit and clarity. It's the kind of pedal where you don't want to stop playing! GUPtech did an amazing job with this pedal and while I can't compare it to the hot cake, this is a great pedal in it's own right.
